WHERE WOULD YOU MEET FRIENDS FOR A DRINK?
I’m a big fan of JoJo’s (01227 274591; jojosrestaurant.co.uk), a charming little restaurant and coffee shop in Tankerton. The coffee and cakes are delicious.
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE FOR LUNCH?
I like to eat at JoJo’s too. The food’s excellent and you can get everything from lovely Greek salads to grilled sardines. The puddings are very tasty too.

The Guardian Travel Section Review
by JoJo's • News, Reviews on August 31, 2012
We had a nice little review in The Guardian’s travel section (see below) as part of a review of The Apartment in Whitstable by Isabel Choat. Click here to read it online on the guardian.co.uk website, or we have quoted the relevant section below.
Hotel Review: The Apartment, Whitstable, Kent
Not that eating out in Whitstable is a hardship. We had lunch at the much-lauded – and justly so – JoJo’s on Marine Parade. Calamari, pecorino cheese and tomato salad, skate wing in lemon and shallot butter and blood orange sorbet were all delicious and very well-priced – a skate wing from a shack on the quayside in town was twice the price. The BYO booze policy makes it even more of a bargain. We rolled out of there stuffed to the gills … and worked off lunch with a walk alongside the beach huts.
