Christmas Opening Times Comments Off

JoJo’s Meze, Meat & Fish Restaurant will be closing after Sunday lunch on the 18th December 2011 to give our staff a well earned Christmas break. Once we have finished pulling crackers and watching repeats of ‘Only Fools and Horses’ on TV, we’ll be back refreshed and raring to go in the new year.

We aim to re-open on the 4th January 2012 but we will confirm this date nearer the time.

JoJo’s Coffee Shop will be open as normal Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th December (Christmas Eve), from 9.00am to 5.00pm – so pop-in for a sandwich or salad, coffee and a slice of cake and give yourself a break from the Christmas shopping! The Coffee Shop will then be closed for Christmas but will re-open from Wednesday 28th December as normal.

JoJo’s Now Has An Alcohol Licence Comments Off

We’re please to announce that (at last) JoJo’s now has a licence for alcohol. We stock a range of quality wines that are sold by the bottle (white, red, rosé and prosecco) and some are available by the glass. We also have a variety of bottled beers, lager and cider.

As ever freshly made coffees, teas, Fentimens ‘real’ fizzy drinks and a selection of chilled fruit and soft drinks are also available including Frank ethical bottled water.

You may still bring-your-own wine and champagne to JoJo’s if you wish. Corkage is £2.00 a bottle. Please don’t use Tesco as we will charge you £5.00 corkage – thank you. Our corkage charge covers the cost of providing glasses, washing up and recycling your empties.

Our BYO policy does not include soft drinks, cans / bottles of beer / cider or bottles of spirits so please do not bring these into the restaurant – thank you.

Our New Website Comments Off

After seven years, and over 105,397 visits we have retired our old interweb site that has done us so proud and launched a brand new sparkling version. This contains er, all the information we had before, but it looks prettier, incorporates a search function, has some links to social media (whatever that may be) and is easy for our designer / techy people to manage. At least that’s how they sold it to us…

Thanks to the Transmanche Enterprise Network (TEN) Project run by Canterbury Council we have had some parts of the site translated into French and Dutch so we can show some love to our European neighbours, and perhaps tempt them over to share some JoJo’s hospitality with us!

Individual thanks goes to our translators Virginie for the French and Kent Union Jobshop for organising the Dutch; plus thanks to Annie at Interactrice for telling us about the project and Natalia at the Local Economy Team of Canterbury Council for facilitating.

Harvest at Jimmy’s Comments Off

We took a weekend out to unwind and visit Harvest at Jimmy’s, a food and music festival in Suffolk. Not only was there some great grub on offer from various pop-up restaurants and street food vans, music from Fat Freddy’s Drop and Turin Brakes hit the spot and we even had a go (or two) on the helter skelter. The weather played ball and we only got half-an-hour of rain which left a fabulous double rainbow over the main stage. And to top it off we even got a big “hello Nikki and JoJo’s” from Jay Rayner when he was on stage!
