Just wanted to thank you for an amazing day and night on Saturday. The food was fabulously good, presented beautifully with fresh, exciting and deliciously moreish flavours… the service and attention to detail was faultless but most of all I have to say what a wonderfully warm and hospitable hosts you were. Can’t wait to come back and try everything again! You are officially my new favourite place.
I’m a regular at JoJo’s, 2 Herne Bay Road (01227 274591, www.jojosrestaurant.co.uk). It’s a wonderfully atmospheric, airy space overlooking the sea, offering a Mediterranean tapas-style menu. Everything is cooked in the open kitchen run by head chef Nicky. My favourite dishes include calamari and mouth-watering mutton and feta koftas. It’s BYO and great value (they don’t take credit cards). Corkage is £2 but £5 if the bottle is from Tesco.

I was down from Scotland last week visiting my husband who is working in the area and we visited JoJo’s for lunch which was excellent, in particular I really enjoyed the Thai lentil and aubergine soup…
My husband will be working in the area for the foreseeable future so I will be down in Tankerton at least once a month for the remainder of the year and will certainly be popping into JoJo’s when I am down and recommending it to any other visitors who pop down to see him.

Hi, after lots of recommendations from friends we finally made it to lunch at JoJo’s and we were greatly impressed. Lovely food, lovely service, great little place in a lovely location.
I just felt I needed to ask the question and make a suggestion on your policy of not accepting any cards for payment. I can only assume you have connection problems or a very good reason as I would think this may lose you quite a bit of returning trade and it would be such a shame. That’s it, just thought I’d leave a suggestion.
Apart from that, the place is lovely, and we look forward to returning 🙂
JoJo’s says: Currently we don’t accept credit or debit cards as the banks charge a relatively large fee for processing card transactions and for the hire of the card terminals. My partner and I went to JoJo’s for dinner last night and have nothing but praise for the whole experience! We eat out regularly and are often disappointed by overinflated prices and poor service. JoJo’s by far exceeded our expectations in all areas.
All the staff should be commended for being welcoming and friendly without being pushy. Our waitress didn’t hesitate in advising us that we may have ordered too much food for two. The menu was interesting, the food was plentiful, tasty and came out at a good pace.
Overall, it was excellent value. We will certainly be going back and would definitely recommend it to anyone!
